Terms of Service
Using WikiCrime
WikiCrime is a free, read-only map of public crime data. By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
Not an emergency service
WikiCrime is not a 911 feed and is not monitored in real time. If you need emergency help, call 911 (or your local emergency number) directly.
Data accuracy
We display data as published by each city's police or municipal open-data portal. We don't independently verify it, and portals can have gaps, delays, or errors of their own. WikiCrime is provided "as is," with no guarantee that the data is complete, current, or accurate — don't rely on it for decisions where that matters, like safety, legal, insurance, or real-estate decisions.
Acceptable use
Use the site lawfully and don't try to disrupt it — scraping it at a rate that degrades service, attempting to bypass access controls, or reverse-engineering it to republish the underlying data wholesale as your own product are all off-limits. Each city's original portal remains the authoritative source; check its own license before reusing its data yourself.
No liability
To the extent permitted by law, WikiCrime isn't liable for damages arising from your use of the site or reliance on its data.
Changes
We may update these terms or the site's coverage and features at any time. Continuing to use WikiCrime after a change means you accept the update.
